Judge Alex Ferrer

Judge_alexTV court shows hold little interest for me or Kathy, but she's so good natured she happily took on an assignment to talk to TV's Judge Alex Ferrer of the nationally syndicated courtroom show Judge Alex and then told me right after, "He was really funny."

Actually, Kathy says it's surprising that she doesn't watch any of the judge shows on the air because she's pretty much a sucker for all things reality. The courtroom shows are chock full of the ridiculousness she loves but she just never has been drawn to watch. Now she says, "My conversation with Judge Alex (at right) may have changed my mind." Here's her report on yesterday's chat:

When I asked him what set him apart from the other TV judges today, he said that he thinks it all just comes down to if you connect with the judge's personality: "I'm more no nonsense, but I also have a sense of humor. I have no problem telling someone 'You've got to be kidding me.'" It was that sense of humor and honesty that appealed to me, not to mention that he was articulate and game to talk about whatever. We talked all about his career, from starting as one of the youngest police officers in Florida, to going to law school full-time days while working as a cop full-time nights, to his decision to leave a probable appointment by then-Gov. Bush to the appellate court for a shot at TV. But my favorite story had to do with his wife. The two met when he was in his first year of law school, during a mock trial in which he was judge (foreshadowing, perhaps?) and she was the court reporter.  They didn't date then, but, still a police officer, he pulled her over a few years later (she had an expired tag). I told him that sounded like a movie script, and he joked that "You and my mom would be the only one who'd go watch it."

I had been in Judge Alex's audience a few times. I had a chance to meet him the last time I was there. He is a wonderful and gracious man. He removed his stage makeup before we had our picture taken together. He is more handsome in person. People magazine should have him on the cover as Sexist Man Alive in addition to Sexist Judge. That was in May 2009. He did not know but I had cancer at the time and had sugery in June 2009. I treasure the picture and will always have a great memory to look back on when things are bad. I also want to thank his Production Director who made it possible for me.

I don't even remember how I found myself in this page.It is to laugh about with some racist or stupid remarks about Judge Alex Ferrer. I don't care if he is tall and handsome, there are millions of those, but just a few who have respect for parents, grandparents, children, animals, gays and lesbians and much more; that makes him a real man.
As about his judgments they are fare and just.I have noticed that he has done his homework before each case,he has checked what is the law in different states for a particular situation and I think that at the end he is checking the demeanor of the litigants and then he decides. I have learned a lot from him cause I pay attention to what he says even about little things that most of us never thought about it.So don't pay attention to his looks look deeper into the man and the work he does. Eh if you don't like him don't mock him , JUST CHANGE THE CHANNEL.

Ladies, keep your sexial thoughts to yourself. Does anyone have any feelings for Judge Alex's family. If I were his wife, this would rip me apart. We UP here in Canada fined him very attractive also. We watch him all the time. If I were twenty years younger and single I would be all over him. I am a German born girl who is a Canadian citizen. My husband is Latino. I use the word Latino instead of Hispanic because I am not to sure of the difference. If you watch any of the Judge shows, NEVER assume you know something. You better have your proof and facts straight. Be nice. We may not be the only ones reading this. Have respect.

JANE IS A MAKES A MOCKERY OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

I stumbled upon this thread while looking for something else related to this show. I felt compelled, however, to respond to Carole (5 posts below mine) that Judge Alex is white, as are 85% of Cuban Americans. Being "Hispanic" does not preclude one from being white. In fact, 37% of the entire population of Latin America is comprised of unmixed whites. Also keep in mind that his show equates to small claims court and, as such, judges have a lot more leeway with respect to decisions than they would in a regular
court setting.
Anyway, I personally love this show and make sure I watch it everyday @ 2:00 PM here in DC, as I don't have to be to work until 4:00 PM. Never liked one of these judge shows as much. He has such a wonderful personality and the dynamic with Victor makes for a great team. The only other similar show I liked was when Judge Judy's husband, Judge Jerry, took over The People's Court for a couple of seasons. His personality and delivery reminded me of the late, great Al Lewis (Grandpa Munster). Cracked me up!
Anyway, just love Judge Alex. Wish his show was an hour long like Judge Jeanine Pirro's is now.

"Judge Alex" is not worth the energy it takes to hate. I simply believe he is an idiot, if not an anti-white racist. I also think he makes his rulings more on his personal opinions than on law (in whatever jurisdiction the case is from).

When I have something that needs to be settled in court, I let a real judge handle it in a real courtroom. Real judges make their decisions based on rule of law instead of their personal opinions of litigants (or anything else).

Of all the 'judge shows' Judge Alex is by far my best. The rulings appear to me fair and the judgement swift. The batering, honesty, humor and sincerity is what makes me intrigued to watch daily. If I am not home, I tivo. Keep up the great work!!

I don't think minorities deserves $5,000 just because a white neighbor does not like or get along with them. Apparently, "Judge Alex" does or he would not have awarded that amount to a black family because of his opinion of the white woman who lived next door.

I also believe that people (even blacks) do not get off the hook paying rent just because a white landlord is racist. Apparently, this idiot "judge" believes that if a white landlord is racist a black tenant does not have to pay rent - since he decided in favor of a black woman who by the "judge's" admission could not prove she had paid her rent. He acknowledged the "racist" white landlord was proving his case but decided that the black woman did not have to pay her back rent because of the racist white landlord.

So much for the idea that I might be racist. If anybody who reads this still believes that, so be it.

I watch him whenever I can. I think "Carole-8/5/08" is the racist here. If Judge(?) Judy would have half his respect and good manners her show may not be so offensive. She is obnoxious, rude and gratuitiously insulting. Do I think she's smart? NO she's hiding behind the justice system that allows her to belittle people. I saw her once and will never have my intelligence lowered again.

Love him! Love him! Love him!

Best looking man on T.V.! Smile that would stop anyone in their tracks!

I stop everything in my day for an hour with the hotest Judge ever! Have learned alot from him too!

Hugs and Kisses to you Judge Alex!

I think he needs to grow a backbone when it comes to his expectations from non-whites in his courtroom. I don't know if he's a racist or simply afraid to discipline anybody who isn't white and set high standards of behavior for them as he does whites.

Also, I think he needs to realize that even whites are entitled to their opinion. He doesn't seem as concerned about blatant racism on the part of his non-white litigants. He certainly is not as hard on them as a white litigant he decides is racist.
