    Judge Alex Ferrer

Judge_alexTV court shows hold little interest for me or Kathy, but she's so good natured she happily took on an assignment to talk to TV's Judge Alex Ferrer of the nationally syndicated courtroom show Judge Alex and then told me right after, "He was really funny."

Actually, Kathy says it's surprising that she doesn't watch any of the judge shows on the air because she's pretty much a sucker for all things reality. The courtroom shows are chock full of the ridiculousness she loves but she just never has been drawn to watch. Now she says, "My conversation with Judge Alex (at right) may have changed my mind." Here's her report on yesterday's chat:

When I asked him what set him apart from the other TV judges today, he said that he thinks it all just comes down to if you connect with the judge's personality: "I'm more no nonsense, but I also have a sense of humor. I have no problem telling someone 'You've got to be kidding me.'" It was that sense of humor and honesty that appealed to me, not to mention that he was articulate and game to talk about whatever. We talked all about his career, from starting as one of the youngest police officers in Florida, to going to law school full-time days while working as a cop full-time nights, to his decision to leave a probable appointment by then-Gov. Bush to the appellate court for a shot at TV. But my favorite story had to do with his wife. The two met when he was in his first year of law school, during a mock trial in which he was judge (foreshadowing, perhaps?) and she was the court reporter.  They didn't date then, but, still a police officer, he pulled her over a few years later (she had an expired tag). I told him that sounded like a movie script, and he joked that "You and my mom would be the only one who'd go watch it."

"Judge Alex" is not worth the energy it takes to hate. I simply believe he is an idiot, if not an anti-white racist. I also think he makes his rulings more on his personal opinions than on law (in whatever jurisdiction the case is from).

When I have something that needs to be settled in court, I let a real judge handle it in a real courtroom. Real judges make their decisions based on rule of law instead of their personal opinions of litigants (or anything else).

I find the judge so appealing that I wish he was an hour like some of those other jugdes that only deserve a half an hour. I simply love him.

Of all the 'judge shows' Judge Alex is by far my best. The rulings appear to me fair and the judgement swift. The batering, honesty, humor and sincerity is what makes me intrigued to watch daily. If I am not home, I tivo. Keep up the great work!!

I don't think minorities deserves $5,000 just because a white neighbor does not like or get along with them. Apparently, "Judge Alex" does or he would not have awarded that amount to a black family because of his opinion of the white woman who lived next door.

I also believe that people (even blacks) do not get off the hook paying rent just because a white landlord is racist. Apparently, this idiot "judge" believes that if a white landlord is racist a black tenant does not have to pay rent - since he decided in favor of a black woman who by the "judge's" admission could not prove she had paid her rent. He acknowledged the "racist" white landlord was proving his case but decided that the black woman did not have to pay her back rent because of the racist white landlord.

So much for the idea that I might be racist. If anybody who reads this still believes that, so be it.

I watch him whenever I can. I think "Carole-8/5/08" is the racist here. If Judge(?) Judy would have half his respect and good manners her show may not be so offensive. She is obnoxious, rude and gratuitiously insulting. Do I think she's smart? NO she's hiding behind the justice system that allows her to belittle people. I saw her once and will never have my intelligence lowered again.

Love him! Love him! Love him!

Best looking man on T.V.! Smile that would stop anyone in their tracks!

I stop everything in my day for an hour with the hotest Judge ever! Have learned alot from him too!

Hugs and Kisses to you Judge Alex!

I think he needs to grow a backbone when it comes to his expectations from non-whites in his courtroom. I don't know if he's a racist or simply afraid to discipline anybody who isn't white and set high standards of behavior for them as he does whites.

Also, I think he needs to realize that even whites are entitled to their opinion. He doesn't seem as concerned about blatant racism on the part of his non-white litigants. He certainly is not as hard on them as a white litigant he decides is racist.

I find Judge Alex to be a very interesting man, and I like the byplay between him and Victor. I would like to have a conversation with Judge Alex.

Judge Alex is a pleasure to watch, funny, honest, and no nonense. He cares about his decisions.

I would think Judge Alex has total respect for his wife. Can't see him hooking up with a bimbo and certainly not keeping her around for 20 years

Interesting that your favorite story was about his wife. He seems to have so little respect for her and care so little about her that on a show I saw recently he said he "wouldn't mind dating a 20-year-old". I doubt this was HIS favorite story.
