Cristian de la Fuente schedules his surgery

Dwtsbuttonsmall_3 Cristian_cheryl Whatever happens on Dancing with the Stars this week, Cristian de la Fuente will have surgery to repair the ruptured tendon in his arm Friday at 8 a.m.  The finalist, who was hurt on the dance floor April 28, has put it off as long as he can; it should have been done within 15 days of the injury, I'm told. He's been taking over-the-counter pain medication and working with partner Cheryl Burke (who he's pictured with at right) to give some pretty stellar performances in the weeks since it happened.  After the surgery he'll need some recovery time, though he'll still do interviews to promote his new TNT show, In Plain SIght, which debuts next month.

We're hoping for Cristian to win because he has guts and also can dance. I honestly believe that Kristi is the best dancer but not by much. BUT she also has training in dance because of her ice skating so she has a BIG advantage. I'm also tired of the "girl power" slogans that Carrie and Bruno yelled. A bit biased, don't you think?

So I'm hoping the fans do their best to break up what I kind of consider an all-out push by the judges to make Kristi the winner.
