'Meerkat Manor' new season starts soon

Meerkats OK, Meerkat Manor fans, good news for you. Animal Planet just announced that the show will be returning June 6, with all sorts of new drama and a new narrator. Stockard Channing has signed on to voice the Emmy-nominated show (and what a great raspy voice she has). Things are getting complicated for the Meerkats, as the once-united clan has now split into two factions, led by half-sisters. Talk about sibling rivalry. There will also be several special programs leading up to the premiere, including a look back at Flower's life (she's the matriarch who died last season) and a half-hour show called The Science of Meerkat Manor.

Whoopi was terrible...way too much personal bviews imposed by her on the Meekats...too much fluff...stick to actual events

I have to agree. This has been my favorite show. The loss of Sean Austin worries me. The movie lost the magic. Whoopi Goldburg was like listining to cardboard. Fingers crossed for Stockard Channing.

I am so sad. I just watched the Meerkat Movie with high expectations and I could hardly finish it. The show that we loved has changed. The new writing for the narration is terrible. The writers are filling this show with their thoughts and feelings instead of unbiased commentary and explainations. Why would they think that they needed to give these animals "cutsey" comments and thoughts and a inspirational sound track? I was hoping that it was confined to the movie and waited for the sneak preview of the next season that followed and it looks like they have changed that also. I am sure that I cannot watch for long if the preview is an accurate example.

Glad the show is coming back, tho it won't be the same without Flower. Also, I'm a little bummed-out Sean Austin isn't narrating. He made the show. What's the story on that??

It's amazing how things just have a way of working out. When this series first began, I was not very optimistic because comparing a pride of lionesses eating a giraffe or a meerkat eating a scorpion seemed at the time to me no competition. But man, let me tell you never underestimate the power of love, After seeing selflessness and bond these little meerkats has for each other, I could not help but love them. I have to admit, the loss of Flower saddens me deeply. Usarion, I don't miss too much, and Shakespear, what ever happened to him. He just went out of the story following his recovery from the snake bit. My condolenses to Mozart, len, and Squig, and Carlos: GoodLuck Zaphod, I am hoping you return.
