'Eureka' new season spoilers

Colin_ferguson If you’re a fan of the Sci Fi channel's Eureka then I bet you're excited to see the premiere of Season 3 on July 29. Our intern Lisa Gartner joined a press conference call with the show’s star, Colin Ferguson (at left), and exec producer, Jaimie Paglia, and came upon a few spoilers. Click on read more below for Lisa’s full report.

.

Oops. I called Ferguson's character the village idiot. Well, he IS the only slightly above-average IQ in a community of geniuses. We had a good laugh over it.

First up: What’s in store for the relationship between Ferguson's Jack Carter and Allison Blake (deftly played by Salli Richardson)? “We’ll try to bring them together this season,” Paglia says. “We made a concerted effort in Season 2 to force Carter and Allison apart. That’s a relationship you want to see play out over many seasons.”

Viewers may be watching for sparks of romance, but the show is a comedy about that thing they call science, and Paglia and Ferguson were leaking plot ideas left and right. Paglia wondered what it would be like to have “a missing persons case inside of a Eureka closed biosphere,” and dropped hints about an episode where Carter gets trapped in a Ground Hog Day-like experience. “It’s the worst day ever,” Paglia says.

Also: Carter’s sister to come to town. “I can’t say why, but she wants to get closer to the family,” Ferguson says. And Paglia promises, "There’s a new mythology for this season that will reveal secrets about Eureka’s past.”

Exciting, no? If you just can’t wait for next week’s episode, Ferguson, Paglia and other Eureka conspirators will be answering questions at Comic-Con on Saturday. OMG. We just can't get away from Comic-Con, can we?
