The four books in Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series have taken the publishing world by storm and it looks like it may be conquering Hollywood as well. Check out this week's special Twilight issue featuring a cover story about the phenomenon as well as an exclusive poster signed by stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. Yes, Harry Potter inspired the same kind of fan madness, but it seems like Twilight may have even more passionate fans. So we couldn't help but ask what you think. Which is better: Stephenie Meyer's tale of forbidden vampire romance, or the Harry Potter tales of the boy wizard fighting against evil? I tried to read Twilight, and it bored me to tears.
I'm a bookworm, and if I find a book interesting I read it in one sitting, no matter how long it takes (which was the way I read Harry Potter). While Harry Potter was written in a manner that made the thick volume not enough, Twilight was too long with not plot within...
why is there even a comparison?
ok this is crazy.. harry potter is the best movie todate... it has meaning... its not all about love.. the cast are very well trained and are amazing at what they do..
twilight is retarded.. just think about it.. no one is good looking but jacob... and what the hell its just stupid.. that two people would even think about fighting over bella.. if they would have got another person to play her someone that is well pretty it would be a little better... and what the hell is up with her.. who likes someone that stokes you and things like that... crazy stupid..
harry potter will always be the best... it took off like nothing else.. twilight is ok but cant hold a candel to harry potter

Having read both Harry Potter and Twilight and seen all the harry potter films and the twilight film, i have to say Harry Potter is just that extra bit better
- it has something special and classic about it. Especially the first 2 films and the books are very well written.
Twilight is still good, but has a more restricted audience. Twilight the book was amazing, i was addicted and the film was pretty good too, but then the books started to get a little bit weird. Like Meyer has good ideas, like the Volturi was genuis, but it was blurred by the Bella Edward love story that just kept being weird - him leaving her, her being obsesed, getting married, him regretting dating her etc.
So Harry Potter tops it i my opinion. But both have their own qualities.
Not only are the Harry Potter books and movies better, but the levels of popularity are not even comparable. Twilight has sold around 85 million copies - Harry Potter has sold over 400 million.

Harry Potter gets more in depth with the characters, they aren't as predictable as Twilight
Ex: Didn't we all think that Harry and Hermione were gonna be bf/gf ?
Didn't we all believe that Snape was just a jerk?
Didn't we all believe that Dumbledore wasn't gay and just had a bad time trying to find a wife?
Didn't we all think that Voldemort was going to be with Bellatrix soon?
(But, we were wrong, weren't we?)
Lets see Twilight: Bella Swan is a plain, whiney girl, Edward is a sparkly, stalking vampire, and Bella's dad is quiet, and Jacob is a werewolf
We all knew that about 8 chapters into Twilight, we knew whats gonna happen and everything!(Piece of crap, sparkly, smelly crap)
Umm,just because Bella is "clumsy" doesn't really classify as a flaw. Unlike the HP characters who all have flaws (and that makes it more real)
Twilight is just a love story, HP has love, lessons, magick, hardships, trust, worry, anger, and alot of stuff mixed in with it!
These are only 1% of the reasons that I have why HP is better than Twilight

I have read both books. Both are amazing but Harry Potter is much better written and is all around better. I love Twilight but Harry Potter wins my vote for sure(:
Not really a fan of either. But I can get through about a chapter of Harry Potter. On the other hand...I don't think I even made it past the first page of Twilight.
I have to say by far Harry Potter is way better than the twilight series! I mean come on twilight is about a dumb girl who can't do nuthin can't walk straight and who is OBSESSED with becomming a vampire! GIVE ME A BREAK! How stupid can anyone be to want to end there life and be a bloodsucker...I loved the harry potter series it has so much more in it than a vampire love story.

Harry potter because twilight is just pointless. It has no plot. Bella has no personality and doesnt know how to do anything herself. I mean seriously Stephanie Meyer Get a life. Anyone can be a best selling author. And how could anyone be in love with edward. Does everyone want to have a boyfriend that leaves you and wants to suck your blood i mean come on people. Harry Potter > Twilight
They cannot even be compared. HP is so far above Twilight, there's so much more to that series and it will live on MUCH longer than Twilight.

in all honestyl I do not really like neither... Frankenstein by Dean Koontz is a very good series that pretty much out-runs both of these series. I mean, Harry Potter does have its good points, and Twilight (which I don't really like) has a main protagonist that is female (okay, I just don't like Twilight and I'm trying to be nice).
And Gerarld Butler makes a better vampire~ <3 seriously...
Most of the people who like Twilight can't give any excuse except, "OMG Edward is so ROMANTIC!" If by "romantic" they mean a creepy stalker who sneaks into girls' bedrooms, doesn't allow Bella to be friends with the one person who most likely saved her life after Edward abandoned her, doesn't allow her to do ANYTHING without him, and then expects her to marry him, well, then, he's very romantic. And what does Bella do? Rather than dumping him and reporting him to the police, she falls in love with him and would die without him. And this is what teenage girls are supposed to learn? To become entirely dependent on a guy? I mean, seriously. In Harry Potter, there are great life lessons for both girls and boys, strong characters of both genders, and strong morals. This shouldn't even be a comparison.
