I've actually gotten up at 2 a.m. in Los Angeles  to be on time for a 4 a.m. press call on the morning that award show nominations are announced. It's crazy that the whole thing operates on east coast time so the announcements can be read live on morning talk shows. But, hey, they still do it that way and always manage to find actors game enough to indulge the process.  This year the Screen Actors Guild award nominees will be announced at 5:30 a.m. west coast time on Dec. 18 by two previous nominees and really good sports, Angela Bassett and Eric McCormack. Bassett could well be a nominee herself this year for her starring turn in ER. McCormack, nominated multiple times for Will & Grace, stars in a new TNT show, Trust Me . Their big reward is getting to be presenters at the award show itself on Jan. 25, 2009.
