Who is your favorite dog from the movies?

Mmks081 USA WEEKEND's gone to the dogs this week. On Tuesday, we had this post featuring interviews with the human stars of the new canine-filled flick Marley & Me (in theaters Christmas Day), and in the magazine this weekend, we have a piece written exclusively for us by Marley & Me author John Grogan about life with his new pup, Woodson. Check it out and then tell us: Who is your favorite dog from the movies?

Easy - The Ugly Dachshund - an old Disney movie about a dane who thinks he is a dachshund - very funny & realistic for us who have danes & doxies!

I love rin tin tin that german shepherd will always be a great dog and a hero, thanks to Corporal Lee Duncan who brought rin tin tin to our lives and to Ms. Propps and Bodyguard Kennels who kept the legacy going and to her granddaughter Miss Hereford for today's Rin Tin Tin.

Lassie 100%. Only the line dogs that go all the way back to the original are THE BEST!!! It took THREE dogs to make that last Lassie movie without a line dog.

My pick is Asta, from The Thin Man movies.

And to the person who chose the dog from "Kue Joe" if you like the movie so much I would think you might want to know that the correct spelling of the title is "Cujo"

We are the proud owner of a neice of Mason the Collie who played Lassie in the remake of Lassie Come Home. So my heart belongs to Lassie.

No doubt there are many wonderful dogs in the movies, past & present.
But my best is "LASSIE". She is what started it all. Most of all Mason who played the remake of "Lassie Come Home" is one of my puppies born at Coppermoon in Northern Minnesota.
Our town is PROUD of him !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. And he still rocks.

His beauty and acting ability are surpassed by none. He has the full range of emotions. I put him in a catagory with Tom Hanks, Johnny Depp and Jack.

Lassie has to be the best! Of course we are partial to collies - Annie, a sable is 8 yrs. old; Sophie, a tri-color is 5 yrs. old, and the newest just last Friday - Sky, a blue merle is 3 months. And just try to housebreak a puppy when it's 13 below zero. We live in Moffat, CO and it's a challenge.

I still get teary-eyed whenever I watch a "Lassie" movie. Never has there been such a gorgeous dog. And they are so smart sometimes we wonder if they are reading our minds.

Thanks for giving us the opportunity to sing the praises of Collies.

We loved the article about John Grogan's puppy Woodson, please tell him our dog had serious problems with her legs but we put her on DGP Dog Gone Pain Australian herbs after both legs seem to collapse, but within two days we saw a difference and in a week she was doing well and kept on this treatment until she died. We hope and pray this might be of help to him.

The Wizard Of Oz is my fave movie. So of course I voted Toto. Plus he is adorable. I think Bolt is cool, too.

My husband too!

My very favorite dog is Chance from Homeward Bound. He's an American Bulldog and absolutely gorgeous. I have loved the breed ever since. Truely awesome dogs. Great article.

We have thought of a bunch of other movie dogs. For example Beethoven the St. Bernard, Snoopy from the Peanuts and Underdog. We also thought how Toto is not even a main character in The Wizard of Oz.

Good Morning, All

I really enjoy all dog movies to a point where I make the effort to find the dvd's of the movie and purchase them if they're available in the store.
I am just awed by how intelligent these animals are and appreciated the movie producers for willing to do movies with dogs as the main characters.

As for Woodson, thank you John Grogan for the great article and Woodson will really love you for not returning him back to his breeder.

Aloha from Hawaii and Happy Holidays,

gladys

As a child I lived to watch Lassie every week. I begged my parents to let me have a collie, but they never allowed pets. I vowed I would own a collie as an adult and I have had two and named the first one Lassie. It was so worth the wait.
