Vote yay or nay on Oscar show

Q1x00141_9 The reviews of last night's Oscar show are in. Depending on which ones you read, it was either a total bust, with Hugh Jackman (left) a lackluster host, or it was a solid attempt to change things up, with Jackman a refreshing talent. What do you say? Thumbs up or thumbs down? Tell me in the post area below. I really want to know.

I agree 100% with Tricia. I am 60 years old and so proud that The Oscars have finally returned to pure class.

I loved the show. My husband Mike loved it. We thought the idea of individual tributes was touching and memorable. After all this is judgment by your peers, right? and if you don't go home with gold at least you can remember that your praises were sung by one of the best in your field.

I wasn't so impressed by the host -- I nominate Tina Fey for the MC role next year!

I agree with most of you - the tributes to each nominee were a nice touch and Hugh did a good job. And the audience seemed to like it. 4.3 million more viewers watched than watched the 2008 Oscars. Interestingly, many TV reviewers didn't much like it.

Ok so this this years Oscars was really good. Normally I watch it and well I will end up turning the channel at some point to watch something eles as well, but not this year.
Hugh Jackman was a great host for the show. I already knew that he could sing and dance. But I didn't think that it would be as funny as it was. He made everyone feel relaxed and that was better. Most of the time those things are so stuffy, but not this year.
Having the former winners from the big categories present was a stroke of genius. Not only did it make the nominees feel special but the whole audience as well. It was to honor everyone that was nominated. I really do think that the nominees appreciated it. This year they could say that it was an honor just to be nominated, after what was said about them by the former winners.
I really think that it was a good idea to have Queen Latifa sing during the Memorium. But the maybe they should have had someone keeping a fixed camera on the big screen for the TV viewing audience. That was about the only complaint that I had with the whole show.

I really really enjoyed it this year. I love when the commedines host the show but this was very refreshing and I loved the entertainment, who knew Hugh Jackman or Anne Hathaway could sing so well and having 5 presenters for the big ones was much more special.. I believe that made each nominee feel like they won even if they didn't..

I really enjoyed the Oscars. It is nice seeing someone other than a comedian hosting, especially one as talented as Hugh Jackman. I like how he seemed familiar with the stars in the audience, like he was trying to make it more relaxed.

I also really liked how they had 5 previous winners giving a personal hurrah to each of this year's nominees for the acting awards.

The song and dance numbers were not lame and forced. They were energetic and engaging. I give it two thumbs up.

Felt more like a Tony's show. Not terrible. But less about film and more about singing and dancing. The only part I really HATED was during the In Memorium year in review when the camera kept moving and you could hardly ever read what the type on the clips was saying.
