Celebrity Birthdays: Meryl Streep, Carson Daly
Posted by Lorrie Lynch Meryl Streep, arguably the best actress of our generation, celebrates turning 60 today. On the heels of her critically acclaimed (and Oscar-nominated) role in Doubt, Streep will portray Julia Child in the August release Julie & Julia, directed by Nora Ephron and co-starring Amy Adams (check out the trailer below). MTV veejay turned talk show host, Carson Daly, turns 36 (The shake-up in NBC’s late-night lineup — which bumped Jay Leno, moved up Conan O’Brien and introduced Jimmy Fallon — did not affect Daly’s Last Call.) The very Unusual Cyndi Lauper (of Girls Just Want to Have Fun fame) is now 56. She tours with, of all people, Rosie O’Donnell this summer. Scrubs star Donald Faison turns 35, and Private Practice’s Amy Brenneman is 45.
