Celebrity Birthdays: Paula Abdul, Zoe Saldana

APPROVED_ai_08-paula-jazz_0392abrF_1 Paula Abdul, '90s pop singer turned American Idol judge, celebrates her 47th birthday today. After sitting in the judge’s chair for so long, Abdul is working on music of her own. She recently took the stage on American Idol, performing I’m Just Here for the Music, the first single from her upcoming album. Hollywood up-and-comer Zoe Saldana is 31 and stars as Uhura in the recent Star Trek flick. This December, she goes into the future for another sci-fi epic, James Cameron's Avatar. Longtime actress Kathleen Turner, who recently made headlines for her controversial memoir Send Yourself Roses: Thoughts on my Life, Love and Leading Roles, turns 55. The one-time Clair Huxtable from The Cosby Show, Tony winner Phylicia Rashad, is 61. Robin Tunney, formerly of Prison Break and now of The Mentalist, is 37, legendary actress Gena Rowlands turns 79, and Ann Wilson of the music group Heart is 59.

Paula Abdul is the best celebrity twitterer and the best judge on American Idol. As she looks forward to another great year of her amazing life I pray that she stays on American Idol. I hear rumors that make me very uneasy about her not coming back to judge. She is the mighty female arm that helped make American Idol a show that's as addictive as a mocha from Starbucks. This is YOUR year, Paula, and just know that I'm not the only one who loves you. you have MILLIONS OF FANS ALL OVER THE WORLD WHO NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED YOU TO STAY ON IDOL. PLEASE DON'T LEAVE. WOMEN CAN DO IT! WE CAN DO IT! YOU CAN DO IT! YOU BELONG ON IDOL, and it's as much your show as it is the other singers and judges. Have another awesome year of your amazing life, Paula.

And thank you so much to Lorrie Lynch, the woman who put this acknowledgement of Paula Abdul up.
