'What Not To Wear' hosts talk about each other
Clinton Kelly and Stacy London, the fashionable hosts on TLC’s What Not to Wear, have joked their way through six unscripted seasons of the makeover show — but, is that good chemistry real? That's what our Who's News readers want to know so I asked our Reyhaneh Fathieh to find out. She got them on the phone — individually, they just couldn't work out a time together — and reports that the self-described “brother-sister” pair has such an easy, natural chemistry that they even find ways to bounce off each other in separate interviews. Stacy, the feisty one, begged Reyhaneh to pull a practical joke on Clinton. “Please, please call him back and tell him I said he was really difficult. He’ll be like, ‘That b**ch!’ and you’ll get the dirt you were really looking for.” But Clinton, who described himself as “more easygoing,” just sounded a touch hurt — “Really? She said that?” he asked. To see what the two reveal about each other, click read more.

Felicity Huffman and other celebs give red shoes
Somehow it got to be February 11 without me blogging about the fact that February is National Heart Health Month. Let me tell you a secret. Heart health is a cause or topic close to, well, my heart because I'm one of millions of women with heart disease - coronary artery disease, to be more specific. In fact, in one of our special health issues last year, I wrote about my quadruple coronary bypass, a surgery I had at the age of 48. I now hope to have a long life, but the facts are scary. Did you know that heart disease is the No. 1 killer of American women?
I hope you saw that First Lady Laura Bush was on the cover of our Feb. 3 magazine to draw attention to heart health. She was in New York earlier this month for fashion week to see the Heart Truth's Red Dress collection; the red dress has become the symbol of Heart Truth, which is all about encouraging heart health for women.
Now there's a Red Shoe Intiative to urge us all to take steps (get it?) toward heart health. LeAnn RImes, Felicity Huffman (those are her shoes below), Marcia Cross, Alanis Morissette and Carrie Ann Inaba are among the celebs who have signed some
pretty red shoes on which you can bid on eBay - through Valentine's Day.

Tyson Beckford's model tips
Tyson Beckford, co-host of Bravo's Make Me A Supermodel, says he gets his style inspiration from Clark Gable (Beckford's at right, looking very stylish indeed). I don't know about you, but I take seriously a man who says he's influenced by Clark Gable, so I want to share with you more of our recent interview with Beckford.
His thing: “The suit. The elegance of a good suit: A man comes into the room in jeans and a t-shirt, then a man with a tailored suit. Who do you think the girl is going to look at?”
Biggest fashion mistake: “Baggy clothes. People are afraid of showing their bodies. Is it so bad to be naked? We came into the world naked. We cover up too much, put layers on.”
Supermodel nutrition: “We’re not about a pack of Marlboros and a Diet Coke. The problem with America is the downing of Diet Coke. Give your kids an apple or a banana instead. That’s nature’s label. I’ve been eating organic all my life. I’m 37 and I can run circles around these contestants on my show.”

Most Stylish Stars
Maybe we should just declare Eva Mendes the "it" girl of 2007. Not only does she have a smile to die for (see earlier post), Life & Styles Weekly magazine puts her on its list of Most Stylish Stars of 2007, calling her, The Bombshell (how anachronistic.) Among the others: Reese Witherspoon, Comeback Queen (as if she went anywhere), Angelina Jolie, Bad Girl Turned Good, Gwen Stefani, Fashion Mogul, Katie Holmes, New Hollywood Royalty (meaning Tom is a prince? Or King?). Who do you think were the most fashionable stars in 2007? What title would you give him or her? Post your thoughts below.

Who's best dressed?
People's Best & Worst Dressed list hits newsstands this Friday, and it's full of the usual suspects: Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani,
Katie Holmes, Penelope Cruz, Jessica Biel, Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Reese Witherspoon and Ali Larter. Men making the list include David Beckham, Terrence Howard, Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt and Lorrie's personal favorite, George Clooney. On the bad list: Avril Lavigne, Janet Jackson and Kirsten Dunst (no surprise there). If I had my way, Beyonce would be off the best list and Jessica Alba would replace her, but J. Crew is my shopping heaven so perhaps my fashion sense isn't quite high-end enough.

Tim Gunn is back
Fashion guru Tim Gunn — he of Project Runway fame — was out plugging his new Bravo show Monday, chatting up reporters via conference call. Usually, I don't like to do those conference calls (too many media people hearing the same stuff) but with Tim, well, I just wanted to find out what was up with this second show. Is Runway not enough? My colleague Brian Truitt handled Tim because I was talking to Keith Carradine, who's joining Dexter on Showtime, and Kathy had the dreaded duty of seeing The Nanny Diaries - more on those later. Brian reports that Tim has a new catch-phrase to add to "Make It Work" and "Carry On." It's "We Can't Want You to Succeed More Than You Do." Hmm. A little long, Tim, but I'm sure you'll make it work. The series, which premieres at 10 p.m. Sept. 6, pairs the stylish Gunn with former supermodel Veronica Webb. The two help fashion-challenged women make the most of their body type with new clothes. Wait, don't Stacy and Clinton already do that on What Not To Wear? Well, yes. But unlike other “makeover” shows, this one’s not an intervention. "These women have self-declared their need for help, and basically they share being in a fashion rut,” Gunn says. “Also, Veronica and I are not pulling up in a van full of clothes. We’re not telling them what to wear. It’s really an education about who they are, with whom they interact and how they want the world to perceive them.” OK, sign me up. Gunn, the newly minted chief creative officer of Liz Clairborne, also dished on how he’d love to make over presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton (wouldn't we all?), finds Crocs appalling (I keep mine to the garden, really!), names cargo shorts as his biggest fashion guilty pleasure and finds bare midriffs deeply disturbing. “I just don’t believe in showing skin that people don’t need to see. It’s as unattractive on a 16-year-old girl as it is on a 60-year-old woman.” Gunn said the fourth season of Runway is well underway. It's supposed to debut later in the year.
