New phone app for the memory challenged
I recently replaced my dead clamshell cell phone with a modern model, complete with qwerty keyboard and camera. I know; I'm not exactly at the apex of technology. I do know enough, however, to covet what others have, and my colleague Craigh Barboza is making me envious as he's been talking up a new phone application that has turned his mobile into a long distant remote for his DVR. Click read more to see what Craigh wrote about it.

'G.I. Joe: Resolute' premieres online tonight
G.I. Joe has been a staple in toy chests and pop culture since the mid 1960s, but it's been reinvented for every generation. Our Brian Truitt grew up with the figures, toys and comics in the 1980s, and has remained a fan since then. He told me that there has been a lot of movement in the franchise with the new live-action movie G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra coming out this summer, and one of the long-awaited aspects of all that is the animated G.I. Joe: Resolute series. Brian saw a quick snippet of the animation last July at Comic-Con, and Joe fanatics have been collecting the Resolute toys in advance of its premiere. The fanboys need wait no further, as the first five-minute webisode of Resolute premieres tonight at 6 p.m. EST on AdultSwim.com. A new webisode will appear each day until April 25, when the whole movie will be shown on Cartoon Network at midnight and will feature the final 10 minutes of the saga. (All episodes will be available online after the airing.) Written by acclaimed comic book writer Warren Ellis, Resolute will feature more action than ever before for a G.I. Joe cartoon, according to Brian. To get a glimpse at what you're in for, check out the trailer below and head to the Resolute website for extra video, file cards on fan-favorite characters such as Duke (pictured at left), Snake-Eyes and Cobra Commander, and more goodies.
